BOSTON, MA - Out of 500 moving companies across the country, Personal Movers of South Lawrence, MA is being recognized for their outstanding efforts to help the less fortunate with the Mover of the Month Award for December 2013.

Move for Hunger, a nationwide hunger-relief organization that works with the relocation industry to fight hunger, presents the Mover of the Month Award to the moving company that chas gone above and beyond to support their local food bank and community.

Since joining Move for Hunger in April of 2012, Personal Movers has delivered over 11,500 lbs. to the Merrimack Valley Food Bank in Lowell, enough to provide over 9,500 meals to the less fortunate in their community.

"The crew at Personal Movers continues to prove their commitment to Move for Hunger's mission of ending hunger,' says Gavin Christiansen, operations director of Move for Hunger. "Every day, their team is making a difference for the more than 700,000 people in Massachusetts that struggle to find their next meal"

In addition to their daily hunger relief efforts, Personal Movers has worked with other members of the community to increase awareness for the issue of hunger.  In November, they participated in a food drive in conjunction with Nashua's 106.3 FRANK FM and that food bank that brought in more than 5,000 pounds of non-perishable food.
